I’ve never been one to use toners, always thinking they were just another gimmick the beauty industry was trying to fob off onto us unknowing consumers to make more money. However, when a friend said she couldn’t live without a toner (the friend with the perfectly flawless, ever glowing skin) I started to look into the world of toners. She swears by Pixi Glow Tonic, a product, I hate to admit, I hadn’t actually heard off until a year ago. So I thought this would be a good place to start and the next day I picked up a bottle from my local Marks & Spencer (who knew they sold it!).
That’s when my life changed. Bit dramatic but it was the day my skin started a new journey to clear success.
I started to use it morning and night every day after cleansing and before moisturising, you only need a tiny amount on cotton wool to sweep all over your face. I have very sensitive skin and typically, exfoliating products irritate it. Pixi Glow Tonic has a very mild formula with soothing and hydrating aloe vera but works wonders because it is enriched with glycolic acid. This gentle, exfoliating miracle ingredient dissolves the bonds binding dulling dead cells to skin’s surface, to reveal the ‘new’ healthy skin cells underneath. The toner also contains oxygenating ginseng which promotes cell health and skin vibrancy, while witch hazel firms and tones and horse chestnut boosts blood flow, to grant your complexion a naturally fresh and dewy radiance – and boy does it. Apparantly, it also improves the absorbition of products you apply afterwards, such as serums and moisturisers, I use The Ordinary range, check out my review here.
Considering it’s £18 (and it lasts forever) I don’t think you can go wrong. After using this toner for about a year now (the results started a month after using) my skin looks visibly rejuvenated. Scarring from acne has diminished massively, it’s never been softer or more hydrated and it genuinely feels like it glows, even without my trusty Nars foundation on.

Let me know if you love the Pixi toner as much as I do or what your other favourite Pixi products are in the comments.
